#YogaEveryDamnDay – Day 22: Oh, It’s a MONDAY Monday, huh?

#YogaEveryDamnDay – Day 22: Oh, It’s a MONDAY Monday, huh?

I must say, today is Mondaying its’ ass off! School officially starts tomorrow and let’s just say that the unemployed humans in my house are not ready to be viable students of the world again. Just like millions of parents and children across the nation, we are in a time of adjustment. As yoga reminds us, change ain’t easy. But before I start complaining about something I clearly cannot control, let me be grateful for a beat.

To close out our summer and celebrate my husband’s birthday, we escaped to nearby Dubuque and Galena for the weekend. We had a blast exploring the Mississippi and shopping at the local Main Street boutiques, even managing to sneak in a childfree date night. It was a nice breather, a calm before the back-to-school storm that has touched down today.

Now, on to today’s practice:

The Instructor: Kassandra Reinhardt of Yoga With Kassandra
The Practice: AM Flow (15 minutes)

Busy days like this Monday call for a quick practice. Lucky for us all, Kassandra dropped a new 15-minute routine this morning and it stretched me out nicely. She says it’s intermediate but, with a few mods, it can be doable for a beginner. For example, the trickiest pose in the practice happens around the 10-minute mark; the Dancer (Natarajasana) isn’t easy, but it can be done with a wall or other sturdy surface for balance. Check this one out anytime this week when things get a little manic like the Monday I’m having!

See you on the mat tomorrow!
